LAS VEGAS, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai unveiled eight vehicles today at
the Specialty Equipment Market Association show, marking its fifth consecutive
SEMA appearance. Custom vehicles by Street Concepts, K-Daddyz Kustomz and
Troy Lee Designs blended Hyundai's confident design with a wide range of
cutting-edge aftermarket accessories, performance-boosting parts, and custom
paint and body work. The resulting display illustrates that Hyundai vehicles
offer incredible head-turning potential to the tuner audience.
New additions to the Hyundai line up -- Accent and Azera -- graced SEMA
for the first time. In addition, Hyundai showed off two custom Tucsons and
two Tiburon sports coupes. The world debut of the all-new three-door 2007
Accent GS and SE, with more than 35 custom accessories in development, and the
North American debut of the concept Accent RS, rounded out Hyundai's display.
"Hyundai vehicles are a great platform for auto enthusiasts who enjoy
customizing their vehicles," said John Krafcik, vice president of strategic
planning and product development. "Hyundai's confident and refined design
direction works nicely with the wide array of accessories available in the
aftermarket, while our overall value position is especially enticing to the
younger buyers that dominate this consumer group."
K-Daddyz Kustomz
K-Daddyz Kustomz participated with Hyundai for the third consecutive year.
Kyle "K-Daddy" Gann brought a Tiburon and Tucson to display in the Hyundai
booth.
The Tiburon features a roll cage and performance exhaust, nitrous system
and turbo system upgrades. The Tucson's exterior details include custom
airbrushing, shaved door handles and a roof modified to accommodate a custom
ragtop. Both eye-catching K-Daddyz vehicles contain Infinity audio systems
with fiberglass and custom paint enclosures.
Street Concepts
A long-time Hyundai tuner, Shawn Williams from Street Concepts, delivered
the first-ever custom 2006 Azera and Sonata sedans. The sophisticated Azera
features a high-performance Bassani exhaust system, paint application by Fix
Auto Collision, and luxury Maido wheels. The Sonata features body kit
modifications and an Infinity audio system complemented by Kenwood components.
Street Concepts also provided a custom Tiburon sporting a new RIPP
Modifications supercharger.
Street Concepts also collaborated with a Korean aftermarket company,
Studie, to develop a unique Sonata completely modified using Korean parts and
accessories.
Troy Lee Designs
Finally, Troy Lee Designs, known primarily for motorcycle, ATV and bicycle
racing, contributed two additional Hyundai vehicles -- a Sonata and Tucson
with custom Troy Lee Designs paint application by L&G Enterprises, Eibach
suspension and Infinity audio systems. The snowboarding-themed Tucson also
features custom exhaust and multiple Momo interior accessories.
These eight custom Hyundai vehicles, along with the all-new three-door
Accent, will be on display at booth #24087 and around the Las Vegas Convention
Center from Nov. 1-4.
Hyundai will honor the top vehicles in a variety of categories with
awards, creating competition among the tuners. Awards will be determined
prior to the show and displayed in the booth. Hyundai will also be giving
away posters of several of its most impressive custom vehicles.
