Solutia's Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass Enhances DUB Magazine's Specialty Vehicles at SEMA

Maker of glass interlayers provides color and metallic glass
for hot cars in DUB Magazine booth

    LAS VEGAS, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Thanks to Solutia's Vanceva(R)
laminated glass, some of the cars in DUB Magazine's booth at the Specialty
Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show have extra sizzle. Two Dodge
Magnums, one belonging to Pepsi and the other to Budweiser, will feature
Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass.
"DUB Magazine readers are always looking for something new and different,"
said Myles Kovacs, president of DUB Magazine Publishing. "In the past, the
aftermarket has been all about exotic paint, big wheels and chrome
accessories. High-end restylers and their customers still want those things,
but they are always looking for unique products -- and Vanceva(R) Laminated
Glass is not only new and unique, it offers great value because of the
additional benefits of laminated glass."
Pepsi's Bright Silver Metallic Dodge Magnum sports Vanceva(R) Laminated
Glass in all glazing positions. The front door positions, which must allow 70
percent light transmittance in most states, are Vanceva's Smoke Grey. The
rear door positions, rear quarter windows and back window are Silver Metallic.
Budweiser's Inferno Red Dodge Magnum also features Vanceva(R) Laminated
Glass in all glazing positions. Vanceva's Deep Red laminate is in the front
door positions, while the rear doors, rear quarter windows and back window
sport Vanceva's Deep Red Metallic laminate, giving it the look of red carbon
fiber.
"We have received tremendous response for our product at the DUB Magazine
Car Show and Concert Series, and our participation in restyling these two
Dodge Magnums complements that success," said Diane Romine, market development
director, Automotive Aftermarket. "This gives us a chance to further show
people how different Vanceva(R) Laminated Glass is. It provides unique
aesthetic value never before seen in automotive glass, and it has amazing
benefits that provide value beyond just the look."
The benefits enhance the look and functionality of the glass far above
what is possible with tempered glass. The interlayer in Vanceva(R) laminated
glass makes the glass much more secure than tempered glass -- it takes up to
30 seconds longer to break into a vehicle with laminated glass versus
traditional tempered glass. The color and metallic interlayers provide a
distinguished look to the vehicle, and since the PVB is sandwiched between the
glass, Vanceva(R) has many advantages over traditional post-applied films,
which can scratch or peel. The glass offers protection from 95 percent of UV
rays, protecting the high-end trim in the interiors of many restyled vehicles.
Laminated glass also provides a reduction in wind and road noise entering the
vehicle, making for a quiet ride -- and cuts down on the sound exiting the
vehicle, keeping the good sound in.
