New Lincoln MKX Crossover Vehicle to Offer Gentex Auto-Dimming Mirror

ZEELAND, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation,
the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide
automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming
mirrors for the 2007 MKX, Lincoln's first-ever crossover vehicle.
Lincoln's MKX offers a base Gentex interior auto-dimming mirror as
standard equipment on both the all-wheel and four-wheel drive versions of
the vehicle. An auto-dimming mirror with Gentex's proprietary, integrated
hands- free microphone is available as part of an optional navigation
package.
The vehicle will be sold primarily in North America beginning this
fall.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from
the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the
glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
"As the public looks for alternatives to full-size SUVs, automakers
have responded by designing crossover vehicles. The MKX is an exceptionally
well executed vehicle, and we're pleased to provide auto-dimming mirrors
for what is sure to be a hit for Lincoln," said Gentex Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer Enoch Jen.
Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation (Nasdaq Global Market: GNTX) is an
