EGL, Inc. to Address BB&T Capital Markets Conference and Announce Third Quarter Earnings

    HOUSTON, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EGL, Inc. (Nasdaq: EAGL) today
announced that chief executive officer, James R. Crane, will make a
presentation on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at the BB&T Capital Markets
Logistics & Transportation Conference in New York, NY.  The presentation will
begin at approximately 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.  Interested parties
may listen to the event via a live internet webcast.  The audio webcast will
be available at http://www.eaglegl.com in the investor relations section.
    Also, as a reminder, EGL expects to release its third quarter results
before the market opens on Thursday, November 4, 2004 and plans to host a
conference call for shareholders and the investing community on that day.  The
conference call will be held at 10 a.m. Eastern time (7 a.m. Pacific) to
review results for the quarter ended September 30, 2004.  The earnings
