DENVER, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- RMI.NET, Inc. (Nasdaq: RMII), a national
e-business and convergent communications company, announced today an agreement
with Enron Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Enron Corp (NYSE: ENE)
to offer ePowered(TM) solutions, such as broadband Internet access, TV-quality
streaming video and video conferencing over the Internet.

Enron offers ePowered applications over the Enron Intelligent Network
through select Internet service providers (ISPs) nationwide. Enron currently
has connectivity in place to offer broadband access and high-quality,
television quality video over the Internet to more than 25 million desktops
and more than 500 points of presence (POPs) throughout the country.
"We believe Enron offers the next generation of broadband desktop
applications for our customers, and further enhances our core e-commerce
business," said Douglas H. Hanson, chairman and chief executive officer for
RMI.NET. "Enron, through its proprietary Enron Intelligent Network and
embedded software intelligence, will provide us with unparalleled quality of
service and the ability to grow these product offering to our customers."
RMI.NET will connect directly to the Enron Intelligent Network, instead of
the public Internet, which in turn provides a platform for higher quality
service, low latency and scalability to the company's needs. The Enron
Intelligent Network is based on distributed server architecture, a pure
Internet Protocol (IP) strategy, Enron's fiber and satellite distribution and
embedded software intelligence.
"As an ePowered partner, RMI.NET will be able to offer its customers
differentiated services, such as ePowered(TM) Media Cast, which streams video
to the desktop up to 50 times faster than what currently is available on the
public Internet," said Joe Hirko, president and chief executive officer for
Enron Communications. "We can offer the speed and quality that others cannot
match, because we have built a pure IP network that provides a broad overlay
to the public Internet to eliminate any bottlenecks. This provides for higher
capacity and better transmission quality."
The ePowered program offers RMI.NET a shared revenue model, reliable
quality of service and the ability to fully integrate Enron Communications'
POP servers. The program also offers joint sales, marketing and network
integration services. In addition, ePowered allows ISP partners to
immediately differentiate their service from their competitors.
Enron Communications serves major markets nationwide with 12 POPs in New
York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco,
Seattle, Portland, San Jose and Los Angeles. It integrates these POPs into
the ISP distributor partners' local POPs, which allows the ISP distributor to
offer the ePowered products.
