CONCORD, Ontario, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Decoma International
(Nasdaq: DECA; TSX) returns to Las Vegas today for the SEMA 2003 trade show
with a dynamic collection of customized vehicles that display the company's
range of exterior vehicle systems and accessories.
"Decoma supplies OEMs with functional and well-engineered exterior
products as well as stylish, high-quality, easy-to-install body kits for the
aftermarket," said Decoma President and CEO Al Power. "Whether we're working
directly with an OEM or producing kits for the aftermarket, enhancing vehicle
exteriors to make them unique and truly eye-catching is what Decoma
engineering and design innovation is all about."
The Decoma booth, #23259 in the Racing & Performance section of the Las
Vegas Convention Center, contains five display vehicles: Chrysler PT Cruiser
Coupe, HUMMER H2 Plus, Ford Focus MAV, Joe Gibbs Performance Silverado and
Honda Civic Coupe. The vehicles visually illustrate different aspects of
Decoma exterior product and process expertise, and the company's ability to
reach distant points on the market spectrum. The SEMA show runs from November
4-7.
Chrysler PT Cruiser Coupe
Decoma dramatically reinvented the PT Cruiser as an example of its ability
to produce low-volume lifestyle vehicles, in this case for PT enthusiasts.
Vehicle features include coupe styling, a drop tailgate and modified rear
fascia and quarter panel.
HUMMER H2 Plus
Decoma supplies OEMs with functional and well-engineered exterior
products, as found on the customized HUMMER H2 Plus. With a power roof rack,
power running boards and rear camera technology, this HUMMER combines stylish
performance with go-anywhere attitude.
Ford Focus MAV
Decoma converted a standard Focus into the Focus MAV, an electronic
superstore on wheels. With exterior features such as new front and rear
fascias and roof and midgate spoilers, plus interior features such as
satellite radio and DVD players, even the most mundane errands become
exciting.
Joe Gibbs Performance Silverado
The Decoma SVE Group secured interior and exterior design input from Joe
Gibbs Performance for the Silverado show truck. SVE specializes in quick-to-
market advanced designs that bring vitality and extended life to existing OEM
vehicles. The Silverado features a custom front fascia with fog lamps and a
tailgate spoiler.
Honda Civic Coupe
The Decoma IMAGEWORKS team -- specializing in style, quality and
performance for the aftermarket -- transformed the base-model Civic into a
wide-body street tuner. This was done with a custom-designed exterior body
kit, available to consumers through select distributors. The body kit
includes a front fascia, rear fascia extensions and rocker panels.
