First Midwest to Participate in the Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L. P. 2004 Financial Services Conference

    ITASCA, Ill., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First Midwest Bancorp, Inc.
(Nasdaq: FMBI) today announced that it will be participating in the Sandler
O'Neill & Partners, L. P. 2004 Financial Services Conference to be held in
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on November 10-12, 2004.  Steven H. Shapiro, First
Midwest's Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary, is scheduled to
speak at the Conference at 7:10 a.m. (EST) on Thursday, November 11, 2004.
