PITTSBURGH, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning tomorrow between noon and
sundown, the lanes connecting the Tenth Street Bypass to the Fort Pitt Bridge
will be re-opened to traffic, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) today announced.
By re-opening the lanes, Trumbull Corporation completes the first major
phase of the five-year Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
The Tenth Street Bypass will serve as a major detour for the upcoming
closure of the Liberty Avenue on-ramp to the Fort Pitt Bridge, a project
expected to last 90 days. Trumbull will begin closing the Liberty Avenue ramp
to traffic at 9 a.m., Monday, August 2.
Also beginning August 2, the Tenth Street Bypass will be restricted to
traffic on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and two weekends for resurfacing.
Normal traffic conditions were restored to the West End Circle and the
northern end of the West End Bridge this morning at 6 a.m.
