PITTSBURGH, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The last major portion of this year's
$16 million project to rehabilitate the outbound Fort Pitt Bridge ramps will
be completed today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced.
Traffic will resume at about noon, when Trumbull Corporation removes the
construction barrels and barricades from the Liberty Avenue on-ramp to the
Fort Pitt Bridge.
The ramp was closed on Oct. 2 as part of the phased, five-year Fort Pitt
Bridge and Tunnel Rehabilitation Project.
Work will continue periodically on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on
the Tenth Street Bypass through early November.
The $40 million Fort Pitt Bridge and Tunnel Rehabilitation Project began
on April 29, when Trumbull Corporation closed and began the rehabilitation of
the outbound lanes of the Portal Bridge over Point State Park.
