McKINNEY, Texas, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
(NYSE: RTNA; RTNB) has been awarded a $22.6 million low rate initial
production (LRIP) contract by United Defense, L.P. for the Commander's
Independent Viewer (CIV).
This award represents the fourth and final LRIP buy prior to the Army's
full rate production decision next year. The company's Tactical Systems
business unit located in McKinney, Texas, performs work on the CIV.
The CIV, which is currently in production for the M2/M3A3 Bradley Fighting

enhances situational awareness, weapon effectiveness and survivability for the
Bradley A3 crew. The CIV provides early threat detection and identification
at longer standoff ranges, dramatically improving performance on the modern

"The CIV team is second-to-none. Superb performance and focus on
productivity improvements have positioned this team for continued success. It
doesn't get much better," said Colin Schottlaender, Tactical Systems vice
president and general manager.
