World's Leading Online Market Destination For Automotive Parts and Accessories is eBay Motors

'Great Truck Makeover' at SEMA highlights variety and volume
of automotive parts and accessories available on site

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- eBay Motors, the Internet's largest
automotive marketplace, will demonstrate its leadership in the automotive
parts and accessories industry through presence and sponsored events at the
2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA). On eBay Motors:

-- An automotive part or accessory is sold every four seconds
-- More than 1.4 million parts and accessories are available every month
-- Annual gross merchandise sales are over $500 million
-- eBay Motors receives over seven million unique visitors each month

eBay Motors, http://www.ebaymotors.com , presents SEMA attendees with a firsthand
view into its vibrant online marketplace throughout this week's show. A
centerpiece of eBay Motors' presence at the show will be The Great Truck
Makeover, a creative program hosted by Popular Mechanics and sponsored by eBay
Motors. The Great Truck Makeover features a 1986 Chevrolet 4x4 pickup truck,
purchased in August on eBay Motors, which is being reconstructed courtesy of
program sponsors. When complete, the vehicle will be available for bidding on
eBay Motors, and proceeds will directly benefit Habitat for Humanity.
A leader in parts and accessories, eBay Motors was a natural fit with the
Great Truck Makeover. eBay Motors is designed to effectively market
automotive parts and accessories, so sellers don't need to expend resources on
independent Web site development, advertising and promotion -- eBay Motors is
a ready-built sales channel. For purchases of parts and accessories, the
pricing is more competitive and the selection more extensive than many other
outlets.
"eBay Motors has an unmatched ability to satisfy both parties in the
transaction," said Drew Lieberman, director of parts, eBay Motors. "The
seller is provided a high volume of qualified potential buyers who are looking
to purchase what the seller is looking to sell. The buyer is afforded greater
selection and value through the more than 300,000 parts and accessories
available on the site. At the end of each transaction, both parties really
feel like they have won."
The parts and accessories portion of eBay Motors is one of the fastest-
growing categories within the site, with an increase of 121% in gross
merchandise sales over the last year.
"The site offers a vast selection of parts and accessories for cars and
trucks, from spark plugs and control knobs to transmissions and hoods," added
Lieberman. "Twenty-six subcategories of parts and accessories are featured
daily. Practically any part you're looking for, you'll find it here."
eBay Motors' exhibit is located in the North Hall of the Las Vegas
Convention Center. In addition to The Great Truck Makeover, eBay Motors will
also feature Pat Goss, master mechanic of television show Motor Week, on
Nov. 6 and 7. Attendees interested in test-driving the eBay Motors site may
do so through four Web-connected kiosks located in the booth.
