NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Christian Music pioneer Steve
Camp issued an "open letter" to the Christian music industry on November 1st
entitled "Chevrolet and the Word of God: An Open Letter to the CCM Community
from Steve Camp."
In his four-page letter, Camp harshly criticizes Chevrolet's sponsorship
of the "Come Together & Worship Tour" featuring Christian artists Michael W.
Smith, Third Day, and author Max Lucado.
"This is not the place for the world to conduct their business," writes
Camp. "The fact that this is an 'evening of worship and evangelism' -- their
language, not mine -- means that we have now actually digressed to charging
people money to worship the Lord."
The letter is available in its entirety at

The outspoken Camp issued his letter after comments he had made on an
internet forum for Christian radio programmers were distributed without his
knowledge to industry leaders and the trade paper Radio & Records.
Camp's career spans 25 years, and includes fifty-one Top 10 radio singles
and combined album sales of over one million units. His latest release,
"Desiring God", was released in October by Discovery House Music, and is
distributed in the United States by Diamante Media Group.
