HOUSTON, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newfield Exploration Company
(NYSE: NFX) today announced the promotion of John H. Jasek to Vice
President and General Manager - Gulf of Mexico. He was previously General
Manager - Gulf of Mexico.
"John has been a leader on our Gulf of Mexico team since joining us in
2000 and has done an excellent job of managing this division," said
Newfield Exploration Chairman, President and CEO David A. Trice. "Our Gulf
of Mexico success has helped fund growth in all other areas of the Company.
Although our exploration focus has shifted to deepwater, we are still
finding excellent development opportunities in shallow water and expect an
active program to continue under John's leadership."
Prior to joining Newfield in 2000, Jasek worked for Anadarko Petroleum
Corporation and Amoco Production Company. He is a 1991 graduate of Texas
A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering. Jasek is
a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Petroleum
Institute.
