Kaiser Permanente Names Andrew R. McCulloch as President of Its Northwest Region

    OAKLAND, Calif., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew R. McCulloch was this
week named president of the Northwest region for Kaiser Foundation Health
Plan, Inc., and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. McCulloch, who began his
professional career in Oregon and Washington, starts his duties with Kaiser
Permanente on November 28.

"Andy's extensive background in health care leadership, his expertise in

help us reinforce our efforts to deliver the highest standard of care and
service for our members and communities in the Northwest."
    Most recently, McCulloch served as president and CEO of Community Mercy
Health Partners in Springfield/Dayton, Ohio, and as a senior vice president
of Catholic Healthcare Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his tenure with
Community Mercy Health Partners, the organization received multiple
national awards for clinical quality and operating effectiveness. McCulloch
also has served in a variety of leadership positions for Catholic
Healthcare Partners, including stints as an interim executive overseeing
operational and financial turnarounds.
    Prior to his role with Catholic Healthcare Partners, McCulloch served
in a variety of positions with PeaceHealth in Bellevue, Wash. These
included: administrator, Sacred Heart Medical Center, and regional vice
president, Clinical Services. Earlier in his career, McCulloch was
affiliated with the University of Washington Health Sciences Center in
Seattle, where he served as chief operating officer of Harborview Medical
Center.
    McCulloch graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a
Bachelor of Arts degree. He received a Master of Hospital and Health Care
Administration degree from the University of Minnesota. Throughout his
career, he has served as a faculty member for a number of academic
institutions, including the University of Washington, University of
Minnesota, and Xavier University. In 2005 McCulloch received the Regent's
Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives, which recognized
his contributions to the field of health care administration. Also in 2005,
he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Urbana
University in Ohio.
