Bloomingdale's Mounts Fundraising Effort for San Diego Habitat for Humanity Firestorm Disaster Rebuild Fund

    NEW YORK, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomingdale's today announced a
program that will leverage among the highest retail traffic days of the
year to generate funds for victims of the recent southern California
wildfires. From Sunday, November 11 to Sunday, December 2, six
Bloomingdale's stores in Southern California will collect donations for the
San Diego Habitat for Humanity (SDHFH) Firestorm Disaster Rebuild Fund.
"Bloomingdale's initiated a corporate grant to SDHFH from the
Bloomingdale's Fund of the Macy's Foundation several weeks ago," said Anne
Keating, Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate
Philanthropy. "We are thrilled to now expand our relationship with this
wonderful organization to raise even more dollars for their important work
in this community."
The Bloomingdale's stores taking part in the effort are located in Los
Angeles (Century City and Beverly Center), Sherman Oaks, Newport Beach,
Costa Mesa (South Coast Plaza) and San Diego. Customers can donate any
amount, at any register in the store, using any normally accepted method of
payment. Employees may also donate, and those that do in an amount of $50
or more are eligible for a matching gift donation from the corporate
foundation. All this is in addition to Bloomingdale's participation in the
Macy's Foundation donation to the American Red Cross that was previously
announced.
SDHFH rebuilt 23 homes for the victims of the 2003 wildfires and
donated building materials to hundreds of families who lost their homes in
the fires from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. SDHFH is here to help in
rebuilding efforts once again.
    Bloomingdale's is America's only nationwide, full-line, upscale
department store; and a division of Macy's, Inc. It was founded in 1872 and
currently operates 40 stores in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts,
Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, Georgia, Florida,
Nevada and California. For more information, or to shop any time, visit
