EPA to Unveil New International Partnership at 2nd Annual Unconventional Gas Revolution Conference Dec. 13-14 in Denver

    NEW YORK, N.Y., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency will discuss the launch of a new international partnership focusing on
domestic and international coalbed methane recovery & utilization efforts at
the 2nd Annual Unconventional Gas Revolution, to be held Dec. 13-14 in Denver.

    Pamela Franklin, Ph.D., Program Manager for the EPA's Coalbed Methane
Outreach Program Climate Protection Partnerships Division, will provide
conference attendees with an overview of coal mine methane recovery and
utilization efforts in the US and abroad, discussing the new US-led Methane to
Markets Partnership, an international partnership that includes some 15
nations and focuses on landfill, coal mining, and natural gas sector methane
recovery and marketing opportunities.
    The increasing difficulty in providing ample supply of conventional
natural gas has led to increased development of unconventional gas resources,
such as coalbed methane, tight gas and shale gas.  This event, to be chaired
by Raymond C. Pilcher, President of Raven Ridge Resources, will cover a broad
range of topics, encompassing the economics and technology of unconventional
gas reserves, drilling and deliverability advances, and more.
