unveiled its new Gateway(R) 24-inch and 22-inch High Definition Widescreen
LCDs, which deliver a premium viewing experience for PC, digital video and

The new displays -- the Gateway 24-inch HD Widescreen Display
(FPD2485W) and the Gateway 22-inch HD Widescreen Display (FPD2285W) --
feature leading-edge technologies including high definition resolutions and
DCDi by Faroudja video processing. The displays are optimized for both
computer and consumer electronics, offering a universal connection to
content and video sources via multiple analog and digital video inputs. In
addition, the new displays elevate the overall user experience with
advanced features such as the new EzTouch(TM) touch-sensitive control
system, auto-rotation capabilities and a high-fidelity speaker option.

Superior Technology and Features for an Unsurpassed Viewing Experience
The new Gateway 24-inch and 22-inch HD Widescreen Displays are
optimized to deliver a first-class viewing experience for PC, entertainment
and digital media applications. The displays have integrated DCDi(R) by
Faroudja video processing technology, which smoothes video playback and
removes visual artifacts to deliver stunning images with precise detail,
color and motion. The sleek LCDs can display multiple applications or
documents side-by-side to enhance the productivity of office professionals
as well as anyone in space-constrained environments, such as dorm rooms,
call centers and hospitals. The displays are also ideal for use as a kiosk
or for signage in a retail setting thanks to its extended viewing angle,
brightness and broad selection of video inputs.
The new Gateway displays protect customers' investment by supporting
both current and future technologies. Built-in High-Bandwidth Digital
Content Protection (HDCP) allows full-fidelity playback of new digital
high-definition content from Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, cable and satellite
high-definition video services as well as content supported by Microsoft(R)
Windows(R) Vista. The DVI port allows a connection to current and future
PCs, while the widescreen aspect ratio is ideally suited for the ongoing

In addition to the DVI interface, both displays come with a variety of
mainstream video ports including composite, S-Video, and VGA connectors as
well as dual component interfaces on the 24-inch Display and a single
component interface on the 22-inch Display. As a result, the displays

set-top box or game console. The displays also feature a built-in,
self-powered four-port USB 2.0 hub, so customers can conveniently connect
any USB device, such as a digital camera, MP3 player, keyboard or mouse,

Touch-Sensitive Controls Are Sleek, Stylish, Easy-to-Use
The new Gateway HD Widescreen Displays debut with a new feature -- the
EzTouch bezel, which features stylish back-lit buttons that remain
effectively invisible until needed. The touch-sensitive controls provide
access to on-screen menus for tuning the brightness, contrast and other
features of the display. Functioning similar to an ATM machine, the buttons
light up as needed to guide the user through the display's on-screen menu,
helping customers to easily configure the display to get the look they
want.
24-inch Model Offers Premium Viewing, High-End Sound in Sleek,
Space-Saving Design
The Gateway 24-inch HD Widescreen LCD features an industry leading
feature set, including high-resolution 1080p HD support. With a 1920x1200
resolution, customers can see the remarkably clear detail in both
high-definition video and PC applications. Additionally, the 1000:1
contrast ratio, 450 cd/m2 brightness and fast 6 ms refresh rate all
contribute to the display's crisp, vibrant visuals. The premium viewing
experience is further enhanced with an ultra-wide viewing angle of 178
degrees both horizontally and vertically.
The Gateway 24-inch HD Widescreen LCD offers positioning convenience
and flexibility thanks to its built-in auto-rotation capability that allows
the display to be viewed in both landscape and portrait modes. The Gateway
EzTune(TM) software automatically adjusts the screen image when the monitor
is moved between orientations. The standard height-adjustable stand can be
raised, lowered, swiveled, tilted and rotated for customer comfort. In
addition, the Gateway EzTune software provides advanced color calibration,
a sought-after feature for photographers and those in design, graphics and
the arts.
To further boost the media experience, the Gateway 24-inch Display
offers a space-saving way to get high-fidelity sound usually only available
with a dedicated multi-speaker sound system. The optional Gateway TDX(TM)
Audio Sound System connects directly to the bottom of the Gateway 24-inch
LCD, perfectly matching the display's thin design. The Gateway TDX(TM)
Audio Sound System features six high-performance speakers and Neodymium
magnet technology, which enhances the sound system's ability to generate
amazingly clean and high-volume sound with exceptional dynamic range.
Like the display itself, the optional sound system features Gateway's
innovative EzTouch(TM) controls, which give customers touch-sensitive
control of audio including volume, treble and bass levels, mute, and audio
source selection. The sound system includes dual headphone outputs,
microphone pass-through for voice applications, and an additional auxiliary
input to let users enjoy audio from secondary devices such as a portable
MP3 player. Additionally, the sound system incorporates an advanced 3D
audio expander to provide increased stereo widening.
22-Inch Model Delivers High-Performance Features at a Mainstream Price
The Gateway 22-inch HD Widescreen LCD delivers many of the same
high-performance features found in the 24-inch at a mainstream price. It
features DCDi by Faroudja video processing for impressive video and movie
viewing backed by excellent image quality with a 1680x1050 resolution, 300
cd/m2 brightness and a 700:1 contrast ratio. The 22-inch Display supports
an optional height-adjustable stand, which lets customers experience the
same positioning benefits available in the 24-inch Display; it can be
raised, swiveled and rotated into portrait mode. The 22-inch Display has a
built-in orientation sensor, which offers image auto-rotation when coupled
with the height-adjustable stand.
Picture-In-Picture Capabilities and Security
Both the Gateway 24-inch and 22-inch HD Widescreen Displays offer
advanced Picture-in-Picture (PIP) functionality, allowing users to work on
computer applications while simultaneously viewing programming from cable,
satellite or other video sources. The EzTune software allows users to
adjust the PIP images to various levels of transparency. Plus, a simple
roll-over of the mouse turns the smaller PIP screen invisible to let
viewers see the screen behind it. In addition, the PIP window can be moved
to a new location on the screen by dragging it with the computer mouse.
Under the unique GatewayShield(TM) comprehensive security solution,
Gateway provides the means for professional and home customers to protect
their Gateway 24-inch and 22-inch HD Widescreen LCD. The system's
anti-theft mechanism allows customers to protect the display by setting it
to function only with a specified PC, disabling the full functionality if
it is removed. In addition, the display comes with lock slots so it can be
physically anchored to a desk or other large object.

Audio Sound System for the 24-inch display is priced at $69.99. The Gateway
22-inch High Definition (HD) Widescreen Display (FPD2285W) is available now
and is priced at $399.99. The optional height adjustable stand is priced at
$69.99.
