Kubi Software Integrates with Salesforce.com On-Demand CRM to Enhance Collaboration in Managing Customer Relationships

Kubi Connector for salesforce.com Expands the Structured Sharing of On-Demand
CRM Enterprise Content via Collaborative Email

LINCOLN, Mass., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Kubi Software, Inc., the creators
of Collaborative Email, today announced a technology integration agreement
with salesforce.com, the world leader in delivering on-demand applications.
Establishing Kubi as a salesforce.com Premier Partner, the effort will extend
high-value, structured collaboration around on-demand CRM content to a broader
base of enterprise users via the business application in which a majority of
knowledge workers live -- Email.
The Kubi Connector for salesforce.com, which integrates the award-winning
Kubi Client with salesforce.com's suite of on-demand CRM applications, will be
demonstrated this week at salesforce.com's Dreamforce user and developer
conference.
The announcement also marks the second partnership between Kubi and an
enterprise application vendor. In August, the company announced a Kubi-
powered module for DETERMINE Software's leading contract-management
application.
By most estimates, Email -- which counts more than half a billion business
users worldwide -- now rivals the telephone as a primary business
communication tool. More users live in Email than any other application, and
the majority of business collaboration activities take place within Email.
Kubi Client is the single product that delivers all the essential
functionality teams need to spontaneously and securely revise documents, share
knowledge, and collaborate on projects -- with internal and external partners
-- from within the familiar Email environment (Microsoft(R) Outlook(R) or IBM
Lotus Notes). By integrating with leading enterprise applications, Kubi helps
to provide context and continuity in business collaboration, while also
capturing valuable interactions that occur outside of the enterprise
application environment.
For example, a sales representative who needs to collect comments and
revisions to a sales proposal can easily invite contributors -- including
people not using salesforce.com, and those outside his organization -- to join
a collaborative Kubi Space, where they can work together to complete the
proposal. The Kubi Connector for salesforce.com populates the shared
workspace with relevant customer information from salesforce.com, so that all
team members have access to that data. As the proposal is refined, the Kubi
Connector for salesforce.com automatically synchronizes the content of the
collaborative Kubi Space with salesforce.com, so that a complete and up-to-
date history of the proposal project is maintained.
"The software-as-service model has delivered on-demand CRM success to our
more than 8,000 customer and 110,000 subscribers," said Roger Goulart, vice
president, global alliances, salesforce.com. "Partners like Kubi Software
play a key role in extending and enhancing the value of salesforce.com by
creating new on-demand services, by bringing high-value CRM content within
reach of additional users, and by consolidating customer-related data and
communications within salesforce.com."
The Kubi Connector for salesforce.com leverages salesforce.com's new
sforce on-demand application server, which allows developers to rapidly build
and deploy business applications at substantially lower cost. The Kubi
Connector for salesforce.com will enter Beta testing in the first quarter of
2004.
"Enterprise applications like salesforce.com provide tremendous value by
delivering an optimized environment for managing critical business
activities," said Julio Estrada, Kubi Software's founder and CEO. "The value
of these applications can be increased when they are integrated with business
tools that are more widely deployed, and that allow businesses to draw from a
broader pool of enterprise knowledge. The integration of Kubi's technology
will enable salesforce.com users to work more effectively, optimize customer
relationships, and improve sales success, by extending their collaborative
work to the familiar Email environment."

    About Kubi Software
Kubi Software was founded in 2001 to create a new class of business
software called Collaborative Email that enables employees, customers, and
partners to collaborate easily and securely. Collaborative Email combines the
power of collaboration with the familiarity and ease-of-use of Email. Kubi
Software's solutions are optimized to support collaboration either for
workgroups or enterprises. Kubi Client makes it easy for workgroups and
individuals to spontaneously create and share workspaces with internal and
external partners. Kubi Server offers enterprise IT managers the ability to
store, manage, synchronize, and replicate Kubi workspaces from a central
location.
Kubi Software also offers a compelling platform for integrating with
enterprise applications. Using the native APIs on the Exchange or Domino
platforms, application developers and system integrators can bring enterprise
data directly to users in the environment where they complete most of their
work, and, likewise, can capture work performed in Kubi Client in order to
enrich data managed by the enterprise applications.
Founder and CEO Julio Estrada has extensive experience in leading the
development of commercially successful software, including Lotus QuickPlace
and Lotus Domino Web Server -- collaboration solutions used today by tens of
millions of users. Kubi Software's world-class executive team brings
management expertise from enterprise software companies, while its blue-chip
investors include Lazard Technology Partners and VIMAC Ventures, LLC. Contact
