DFW Network of Hispanic Communicators Hosts Panel Discussion

    DALLAS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Please join the DFW Network of Hispanic
Communicators, the DFW Association of Black Journalists and journalists from
the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a panel discussion on coverage of Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita -- the nuts and bolts of covering a major disaster.

     When Disaster Strikes: Lessons Learned from Katrina and Rita

     Belo Building, 3rd Floor Auditorium

     6:30 p.m. - Reception and Hor's D'Oeuvres

     7 p.m. - Panel discussion

    The panel:  Lee Hancock, senior writer for The Dallas Morning News, was on
the ground before Hurricane Katrina made landfall and was one of a team of
reporters rotating in and out of the area; Irwin Thompson, photographer for
The News, was one of a team of DMN photographers who led the nation with their
photographs; Mike Drago, Texas & Southwest Editor for The News, helped
coordinate The News' coverage from Dallas; Anthony Spangler, Fort Worth Star-
Telegram reporter who wrote about evacuees from Katrina and the problems faced
by small towns post-Rita; and Gordon Jackson, editor of the Dallas Examiner.
Vernon Smith, Deputy International Editor, will moderate.
