PNI Division Announces ZOOMpage(sm) Internet Access Service

    ATLANTA, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- PNI Access Services(sm), a division of
Preferred Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: PFNT) (PNI), a leading outsourcing services
provider to the wireless industry, today announced the launch of ZOOMpage(sm),
its wholesale Internet access offering, which integrates Internet access with
wireless services. Using technology developed by PNI, users of ZOOMpage(sm)
receive an alert on their pager when they receive Internet E-mail, allowing
them to remain "net aware" even while away from their computers. In addition,
by using the zoompage.com website to send alphanumeric pages, consumers are
able to use the Internet as a universal gateway, rather than going through
operator dispatch or utilizing proprietary alphanumeric software.
Gary Park, President of PNI Access Services(sm), said, "The ZOOMpage(sm)
service bridges the gap between the Internet and wireless products by enabling
consumers to remain in touch with what is happening on the Internet, without
being tethered to their computer. PNI Access Services benefits by the
additional revenue stream, because we derive revenue both from the wholesale
Internet access service and from the increased paging traffic. ZOOMpage(sm)
benefits our wholesale distributors as an enhanced service offering they can
provide to their subscribers."
PNI Access Services(sm) will distribute the service on a wholesale basis
through its extensive customer base of more than 1,800 companies who resell
PNI services to their subscribers. The ZOOMpage(sm) service offers an
additional revenue stream for wireless retailers, as well as a valuable
enhanced service to their customers.
Preferred Networks, Inc., headquartered in metropolitan Atlanta, provides
outsourcing solutions to the wireless industry which allow companies to offer
branded wireless services directly to subscribers, while relying on PNI to
provide high-quality network, technical, and product services. PNI offers its
services through its PNI Access Services(sm) Division, a provider of wholesale
paging network services and information services technical support, and
through its wholly owned subsidiaries: Preferred Technical Services, Inc., a
provider of paging network equipment installation, maintenance and engineering
services; and EPS Wireless, Inc., a national provider of paging and cellular
product repair services, sales of new, used and refurbished paging and
cellular products and inventory management services. PNI's address on the
World Wide Web is http://www.pni.net.
