PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Willamette Industries' (NYSE: WLL)
Board of Directors has elected Duane C. McDougall to the position of chief
executive officer of the company. McDougall replaces William Swindells,
68, who remains Willamette's chairman of the board. The appointment is
effective on December 1.
McDougall, 46, has been with Willamette for nearly 20 years and has been
president and chief operating officer since April of 1998. He previously held
the positions of executive vice president and vice president in charge of the
company's Building Materials Group and vice president/controller.
The Board also declared a quarterly dividend of $.16 per share payable on
December 14, 1998 to shareholders of record on November 30, 1998.
