TUCSON, Ariz., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's Missile Systems
recently announced several changes in its leadership team.
Jon C. Jones has been appointed vice president of the Company's Missile
Systems business in Tucson, Ariz. Jones joined the former Hughes Aircraft
Company in 1977 and has held numerous positions with increasing responsibility
within the company. Most recently he was vice president of the Strike product
line that includes Tomahawk Cruise Missile, Joint Stand-Off Weapon, Paveway
Laser Guided Bomb, High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile, Maverick and Advanced
Cruise Missile products and services. Prior to that, Jones served as director
for short-range missiles in the Air-to-Air product line. Previously, he was
responsible for development of AIM-9X and served as the program's chief
engineer for five years. Jones holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from
California State University Northridge and a master's degree in engineering
management from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jones succeeds Jerry Lockard who will serve on a multi-functional
executive team, the Raytheon Company Evaluation Team, which has been formed to
increase Raytheon's competitiveness by providing evaluations of corporate
effectiveness on a variety of issues.
Harry Schulte has been named vice president of Strike programs. Schulte
retired as Acquisition Executive and Senior Procurement Executive for the
United States Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., where
he was responsible for special operations forces research, development,
acquisition, procurement and logistics. A civilian employee of the U.S. Air
Force since 1971, Schulte held numerous acquisition positions including
program manager, program director and program executive officer. Schulte holds
a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of
Cincinnati, a master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force
Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and a master's
in business administration from Wright State University.
Donald M. Targoff has been promoted to vice president, Air-to-Air
Missiles. Targoff previously was deputy to the vice president of Advanced
Programs. Prior to that role he was program director, Advanced Medium Range
Air to Air Missile (AMRAAM) P3I Phase 3 program, the BVRAAM capture leader and
chief engineer on AMRAAM. Targoff joined Hughes Aircraft Company in 1976. He
is a graduate of University of California Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree
in general engineering, a master's in electrical engineering and a doctorate
in electrical engineering.
Targoff succeeds Chuck Anderson who will retire at the end of 2003.
Mark D. Schultz has been appointed vice president of legal. Schultz joins
Raytheon from the law firm of Sidley, Austin, Brown and Wood where he served
as managing partner of the Tokyo office. He was responsible for regulatory
issues and international negotiations on several multi-billion dollar projects
that included technology development and licensing, satellite
telecommunications and multinational joint venture agreements. Previously he
was a partner in the law firm of Perkins Coie in the Seattle, Los Angeles and
Tokyo offices. Schultz graduated summa cum laude from Alma College with a
bachelor's in economics and foreign service and magna cum laude with a juris
doctor from Harvard Law School.
Schultz succeeds Don Ellermann who retired from the company after more
than 20 years of service.
