WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Peritus Software Services,
Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PTUS), a provider of solutions for software
maintenance, today announced its financial results for the three months ended
September 30, 1999. Total revenue decreased 63.0% to $1,960,000 from
$5,293,000 in the three months ended September 30, 1998. The net loss
decreased 99.6% to $71,000 ($0.00 per share) from the net loss of $16,132,000
($0.99 per share) in the three months ended September 30, 1998. Excluding
charges and adjustments related to restructuring and impairment of long-lived
assets, the net loss for the third quarter of 1999 decreased 96.3% to $314,000
from a net loss of $8,559,000 in last year's third quarter. Detailed results
and commentary including a full explanation of the Company's restructuring and
asset impairment charges and adjustments are contained in the Company's Form
10-Q which is expected to be filed today with the U.S. Securities and Exchange
