US Airways Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Derek Kerr Named Arizona CFO of the Year By Financial Executive International

    TEMPE, Ariz., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways (NYSE: LCC)
Senior Vice President and CFO Derek Kerr has been named Arizona's Chief
Financial Officer of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of Financial Executive
International. The award recognizes Kerr's commitment to the community and
his professionalism and leadership at Phoenix's hometown airline.

a ceremony Nov. 8 in Phoenix.
    Kerr joined America West Airlines in September 2002 as a senior
director of planning. He was promoted to vice president, financial planning
and analysis in May 1998. In February 2002, Kerr was promoted to senior
vice president-finance, adding responsibility for purchasing and fuel
administration, and became chief financial officer in September of that
year.
    Kerr serves on the Board of the Phoenix Zoo, is a mentor and coach to
Little League organizations across the Valley, and is active in
organizations through his church. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two
children.
    Prior to joining America West, Kerr served in various financial
planning and analysis positions with Northwest Airlines. Previously, Kerr
was a flight test coordinator/control engineer with Northrop Corporation's
B-2 division.
    Kerr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering
and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
