CONCORD, Mass., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Starmet Corporation
(Nasdaq: STMT), formerly Nuclear Metals, Inc., a Concord, Massachusetts
manufacturer of advanced technology metallurgical products, today announced
that its wholly owned subsidiary, Starmet Comcast, has opened a west coast
sales office in San Jose, California. This office opening, the most recent of
several Starmet technical marketing offices opened in the last 18 months,
reinforces Starmet's commitment to customer service and product development.
The San Jose office joins other Starmet locations in Aiken, SC, Idaho Falls,
ID, Oak Ridge, TN, and Washington, D.C. This location has strategic
significance for Starmet, in that Comcast will be better able to service its
existing west coast customers as well as provide a platform for business
growth opportunities with the high technology companies located in Silicon
Valley. "Our patented Beralcast(R) beryllium aluminum alloys offer high
technology companies solutions to their efforts to push existing performance
benchmarks," stated Comcast President, Kevin R. Raftery.
The Starmet Comcast San Jose office will be managed by Chris Hinshaw who
has been working with Starmet since 1996 and was recently promoted to Manager,
Sales and Marketing. Mr. Hinshaw has more than ten years experience selling
and promoting beryllium aluminum and other high tech consumer products.
According to Hinshaw, "This is a significant step in our plan to strengthen
our patented Beralcast technology market presence and enhance our product
development efforts."
