Raytheon's Proven RAPID Solution Supports Team FCA's Mission for the Army

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 14, 2005 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's
proven Raytheon Aircraft Parts Inventory and Distribution (RAPID) program will
help ensure that its military aircraft offering for the U.S. Army's Future
Cargo Aircraft (FCA) is available whenever and wherever commanders need it.
Raytheon currently uses RAPID to manage more than 12 million parts for
both Raytheon and aftermarket products. RAPID also supports 30,000 Raytheon
Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft worldwide. Equipped with the world-class RAPID
solution, Team FCA will provide 24-hour support to the Army's FCA needs. Team
FCA, comprised of Raytheon, EADS CASA North America and M7 Aerospace, is
offering the combat-proven CN-235/C-295 military transport aircraft for the
FCA mission.
The planned FCA acquisition will provide the Army with a new fixed-wing
transport aircraft capable of performing rapid-response, intratheater missions
with cargo, equipment and soldiers, as well as medevac duties and airdrop
delivery. As prime contractor for the FCA team, Raytheon Company is providing
program management, mission systems integration and mission support solutions
for FCA. EADS CASA North America will assemble and deliver the FCA in the
United States.
RAPID is a key element to the integrated supply chain management system,
the backbone of the Team FCA program that enables the team to locate, ship and
procure parts quickly to ensure overall FCA system availability any time,
anywhere.
"Team FCA's mission support capability results in increased operational
availability, decreased footprint, improved response time, and optimal total
ownership cost," said Jim Hvizd, Team FCA vice president. "When the Army wants
its aircraft, Team FCA will deliver."
Team FCA's military aircraft fleet is supported by an in-place, worldwide
operations and logistics network that includes the RAPID solution. Team FCA
also has support personnel at all required U.S. Army FCA locations and 31
countries. Additionally, more than 1,600 pilots and 5,500 maintenance
technicians are trained and certified on the CN-235/C-295 family of aircraft.
"FCA is an example of Raytheon's company-wide commitment to providing the
best mission support solutions for our customers," said David Dacquino, a vice
president of Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, which is leading the
mission support solution for Team FCA. "Our mission is to predict customer
needs, sense potential problems and proactively respond with the solutions."

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), with 2004 sales of $20.2 billion, is an
