Construction Writers Association Presents 2006 Marketing Communications Awards

    BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Construction Writers
Association recently presented its sixth annual Marketing Communications
Awards at the organization's Midyear Meeting in Chicago. Entries in three
categories-corporate communications, public relations and advertising-were
evaluated by a panel of judges on the basis of editorial content, graphic
design and effectiveness in achieving the stated marketing goals. Entries
were received from associations, advertising agencies, PR firms, large and
small contractors, trade associations and publishers.
    Award winners in the Corporate Communications category were:
    * In the Annual Report subcategory, first place went to Parsons
      Brinkerhoff.  An honorable mention in Annual Reports went to Balboni
      Associates for United Rental's annual report.
    * In the Trade Exhibit subcategory, first place was awarded to Clark
      Construction Group.  An honorable mention in Trade Exhibits was awarded
      to McKim & Creed PA.
    * In the Brochure subcategory, an honorable mention was presented to
      Grunley Construction.
    * An honorable mention was also awarded to PCI of Illinois and Wisconsin
      for its tour map.
    * In the Direct Mail subcategory, the first place winner was Shawmut
      Design & Construction. Honorable mentions in Direct Mail were awarded to
      BSA LifeStructures and to Advantage Marketing (for its JESCO campaign).
    * In the Magazine subcategory, there was a first place tie, with awards
      going to Parsons Brinkerhoff and DMJM Harris. An honorable mention in
      Magazines was presented to Vecellio Group.

    Award winners in the Public Relations category were:
    * In the Press Kit subcategory, first place was awarded to Industrial
      Marketing Services for its JLG press kit. An honorable mention in Press
      Kits went to Two Rivers Marketing for its Bobcat press kit.
    * In the Editorial Placement subcategory, there was a first place tie,
      with awards going to BSA LifeStructures and Reilly Communications (for
      its work for Freelon Group). An honorable mention for Editorial
      Placement was awarded to Constructive Communications (for its work for
      H.R. Gray).

    Award winners in the Advertising category were:
    * In the Display Advertising subcategory, first place was awarded to
      Barton Malow Company.  An honorable mention in Display Advertising was
      presented to McKim & Creed PA.
    * In the Advertorial subcategory, first place was awarded to Surety
      Information Office. An honorable mention in Advertorial went to
      Construction Management Association of America.
    Matthew Phair, editor of Constructioneer magazine, chaired the 2006 CWA
Marketing Communications Awards Committee. The judges were Laurie Macomber
and Jan Meryl.
