Construction Writers Association Presents 2007 Marketing Communications, Website and Electronic Communications Awards

    BUFFALO GROVE, Ill., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Construction Writers
Association presented its annual Marketing Communications, Website and
Electronic Communications Awards at the organization's Midyear Meeting in
Chicago. Entries were received from associations, advertising agencies, PR
firms, large and small contractors, trade associations and publishers.
Winners were chosen by impartial judges.
    The Website Awards and Electronic Communications Award were presented
by chairman Beth Margulies of National Electrical Contractors Association.
Three awards were presented:
    -- Website Award:  McKim & Creed for http://www.mckimcreed.com.
    -- Honorable Mention Website Award:  Hilti North America for
       http://www.us.hilti.com.
    -- Electronic Communications Award:  Lift & Access for its electronic
       newsletter
    The Marketing Communications Awards were presented by co-chairs Tina
Barbaccia of Aggregates Manager and Don Marsh of Concrete Products. Entries
in three categories -- corporate communications, public relations and
advertising -- were evaluated by a panel of judges on the basis of
editorial content, graphic design and effectiveness in achieving the stated
marketing goals. The judges further divided the entries into subcategories.
    Award winners in the Corporate Communications category included
    -- Newsletter/Magazine - External Audience:  DMJM Harris for "Legacy"
       biannual corporate magazine
    -- Newsletter/Magazine - External Audience:  honorable mention to Parsons
       Brinckerhoff for "Notes" corporate magazine
    -- General Promotion:  Swinerton Inc. for Swinerton 6 x 6 brochure
    -- General Promotion:  honorable mention to Performance Marketing for
       Genie Industries corporate brochure
    -- Specialty - Event/Milestone Promotion:  BSA LifeStructures for custom
       proposal
    -- Internal Communications:  BSA LifeStructures for "Fast Forward"
       internal communications program

    Award winners in the Advertising category included
    -- Professional Service Print Ads:  Swinerton for "Building Great Cities"
    -- Magazine supplement:  Surety Information Office and Associated Builders
       and Contractors for November 2006 Surety Bonding Advertising Section in
       ABC's Construction Executive
    -- Products & Equipment Print Ads:  Performance Marketing for Genie
       Industries niche ad campaign
    -- Direct Mail:  BASF Construction Chemicals - Admixture Systems for
       Rheopel Plus demonstration kit
    -- Direct Mail:  honorable mention to Aviation Capital Management for
       Numbers Series

    Award winners in the Public Relations category included
    -- Bylined Articles:  Chris O. Communications for GeoStructures campaign
    -- Media Kit:  Performance Marketing for Terex "King of the Dirty Media
       Days" press kit, including backpack
    -- Media Kit:  honorable mention to Two Rivers Marketing for Bobcat media
       kit
