Southern Webzine Keeps Rockin' with 'Cyberpalooza' on Nov. 18
ATLANTA, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- At yall.com, there's more to music than
just whistlin' Dixie. In fact, many folks are sitting up and taking notice of
the Southern Webzine as the hottest site around for chats, music news and
reviews on the South's up and coming bands. Kudos from USA Today, Wired,
Netguide and Atlanta's own Creative Loafing are among national and local press
who recommend Y'all as a cool place to kick back and soak up Southern culture
and music. On Nov. 18, Y'all will turn up the decibels for its first ever
"Cyberpalooza" chat with musicians, record company execs, media and fans.
A Virtual Mosh Pit
A popular online place for Southern music, yall.com regularly schedules
chat sessions with famous and soon-to-be famous Southern musicians on its
"Porch" section. This week, Y'all held a chat during the Atlanta Local Music
Awards (ALMAs) featuring bands like Lift, Soul Miner's Daughter, Stuck Mojo,
Trinket and Six Ways to Sunday where fans "stormed" the site to ask questions
about how to break in the music business, what it's like to prepare for an
awards show and how winning an award could jumpstart their careers.
Cyberpalooza, Nov. 18
Y'all continues the "virtual mosh" on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. as
Southern music artists, fans, writers and record company reps jump into the
"pit" for a wild, free-for-all discussion on anything and everything that
comes to mind. Notable music folks expected to join include Mammoth, Long
Play, Ichiban and Capricorn Records, Alternative Press, Raygun and CMJ. Bands
that will join in include members of Glass Candle Grenade, Trinket, Clarissa,
Blue Yard Garden, Lift and the Penetrators among others -- and there are bound
to be surprises! To join in the online music fest, go to
http://www.yall.com/chat/ychat.html.
Y'all has become an online music haven for people who want to tune in to
the Southern music scene, chat with musicians and "Smash or Trash" new bands.
Concert and club dates also are listed and Y'all recently completed its own
tour to promote its home grown CD compilation featuring 19 up and coming
Southern bands ranging from rock and roll to bluegrass and bebop. The CD and
concert tour T-shirt are available in the site's Y'all Mart with all profits
going to support Habitat for Humanity.
