Hello Direct's Patented Digital Adapter Technology to be Sold Under Polycom

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Hello Direct(R), Inc.
(Nasdaq: HELO), the leading developer and direct marketer of desktop telephony
and equipment interface products, today announced an OEM agreement with
Polycom(R), Inc., the global leader in multimedia communication solutions.
Under the terms of this agreement, Hello Direct will provide Polycom a Hello
Direct-built and Polycom-branded digital adapter that will let Polycom's
market-leading SoundStation(R) conference phones be used with any phone
system.

Hello Direct's smart adapter technology allows full duplex
audioconferencers to be connected easily to any phone system, digital or
analog. The product Hello Direct has built for Polycom contains the Hello
Direct LearnIt(TM) smart interface chip, for which Hello Direct was recently
granted two patents. The technology enables both voice and data products to
adapt themselves automatically to the diversity of non-standard handset ports
found on today's digital telephones, without requiring the user to configure
switches manually or purchase phone-specific adapters.
Hello Direct developed the technology for its SuperPro(R) and Cordless(TM)
LET headset products, as well as its Line Stein(R) digital adapter. The
technology guarantees compatibility with the universe of proprietary business
phones while simplifying setup for the user.
