NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Merrill Lynch announced today that Brian
Hehir has been named a Vice Chairman of investment banking at the firm. In
this newly created post, Mr. Hehir will focus on senior client relationships,
with a particular emphasis on significant equity and equity-related
transactions. In partnership with the firm's investment banking teams, Mr.
Hehir will work on opportunities for corporate restructurings through
subsidiary IPOs and monetizations of cross-holdings.

Mr. Hehir is returning from a six-month sabbatical during which he spent
time with his family and pursued special interests. Prior to that, Mr. Hehir
had been co-head of Equity Capital Markets at Merrill Lynch from 1995 to April
of 1999. Mr. Hehir began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1979 and has held a
variety of positions at the firm in investment banking and equity capital
markets.
