American Axle & Manufacturing Announces Executive Appointments

    DETROIT, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Axle &
Manufacturing, Inc. (AAM), today announced the following officer and
executive appointments:
    -- Yogendra N. Rahangdale has been named vice chairman, a non-board
       position. Rahangdale will continue to report to the Co-Founder,
       Chairman & CEO.  Rahangdale will have overall responsibility for:
       Manufacturing Services, Capital Planning & Cost Estimating; Product
       Engineering; IT & Electronic Product Integration; and Strategic &
       Business Development. Most recently, Rahangdale served as president and
       chief operating officer.

     The position of president will not be filled at this time.

    -- David C. Dauch has been appointed executive vice president and chief
       operating officer. He will also serve as chairman of AAM's Operating
       Committee. In his new position Dauch will have overall responsibility
       for: Sales & Marketing; Quality Assurance & Customer Satisfaction;
       Global Procurement & Supply Chain Management; Global Driveline
       Operations; Global Metal Formed Products Operations;
       Driveshaft/Halfshaft Operations; Commercial Vehicle Operations; and
       Special Projects.  Most recently, Dauch served as executive vice
       president, Strategic & Commercial Development

    -- John J. Bellanti has been named group vice president, Manufacturing
       Services, Capital Planning & Cost Estimating. Previously he served as
       AAM's vice president, Manufacturing Services, Capital Planning & Cost
       Estimating.

    -- Michael K. Simonte has been named group vice president, Finance & Chief
       Financial Officer. Previously he served as vice president, Finance &
       Chief Financial Officer. Simonte will continue to report to AAM's Co-
       Founder, Chairman & CEO.

    -- Michael C. Flynn has been appointed vice president, Global Procurement
       & Supply Chain Management. This new position combines the
       responsibilities of Global Procurement with Materials Management and
       Production Control responsibilities.  Flynn previously served as vice
       president, Procurement.

    -- Curt S. Howell has been appointed vice president, Global Driveline
       Operations. This new position combines responsibility for all U.S. and
       International Driveline operations. Previously Howell served as general
       manager, International Operations.

    -- Kevin M. Smith has been named vice president, Mexico. Prior to assuming
       this new position, Smith served as Plant Manager, Guanajuato Gear &
       Axle.

    -- John S. Sofia has been named vice president, Product Engineering,
       Commercial Vehicle Operations & Chief Technology Officer. Sofia served
       as vice president, Engineering & Product Development and CTO prior to
       assuming his current position.

    -- Norman Willemse has been appointed vice president, Global Metal Formed
       Products Division Operations. Previously he served as general manager,
       Metal Formed Products Division.

    -- Joe Conroy has been named executive director, Materials Management &
       Production Control. Previously Conroy served as general manager,
       Driveline Division.

    -- Robin Kendrick, previously managing director, AAM Europe, assumes the
       position of general manager, Global Driveshaft & Half Shaft Operations.
