RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fort James Foundation announced
a grant of $100,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Oak Brook, Illinois
to be paid over a period of four years. The funds will be used to care for
families with children receiving medical treatment.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides comfort and care to children and
families through its network of local chapters currently serving in 32
countries. Its cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House program, has
provided a "home-away-from-home," a temporary lodging facility for the
families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals, for
nearly two million family members since its inception in 1974. By the end of
1999, there will be 208 Ronald McDonald Houses in 19 countries, including the
first Houses in Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico and Northern Ireland/UK.

Ronald McDonald House Charities along with the local chapters provide
grants to not-for-profit organizations and provide support to Ronald McDonald

local chapters have awarded over $200 million in grants to children's programs
worldwide.
