New TD Waterhouse Ad Campaign Shows 'How Easy' it is To Manage Your Financial Life Online

      Ads Feature Martin Short, Dennis Miller, Rene Russo and Grant Hill

    NEW YORK, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- TD Waterhouse Group, Inc.
(NYSE: TWE; TSE), the global online financial services firm, today unveiled
its new national print and broadcast ad campaign.  The campaign, "How Easy is
This," is part of the firm's $165 million marketing initiative and features
well-known celebrities Dennis Miller, Martin Short, Rene Russo and Grant Hill.
    The "How Easy is This" ad campaign was developed based on comprehensive
national research pointing to widespread consumer desire for ease of use and
simplicity in managing their finances, a theme that is consistent through each
of the celebrity spots.  Each ad features one of the celebrities touting the
use of one of TD Waterhouse's services -- from Martin Short taking advantage
of the firm's branch network and Dennis Miller using electronic bill payment
services to Grant Hill investing wirelessly through TD Waterhouse and Rene
Russo buying mutual funds online.
    "We know consumers want the ability to not only reach out and touch their
money, but to do so quickly and easily," said Randall M. Miller, Chief
Marketing Officer of TD Waterhouse.  "At TD Waterhouse, we offer customers

Internet, connecting through wireless channels or calling our toll-free

    The new ads were created by New York-based Post & Partners and will begin
appearing on various broadcast outlets November 15th.  The first of the
broadcast ads to appear will feature Martin Short and Dennis Miller, with the
Rene Russo and Grant Hill spots appearing later in the campaign's cycle, which
runs through Fiscal Year 2001.
    "In designing the new campaign, our goal was to use celebrities in a
creative way that breaks through the clutter of financial services
advertising, while also establishing TD Waterhouse as a company that is easy
to do business with," said Peter Post, Chief Executive Officer of Post &
Partners.
    Broadcast outlets include the morning and evening news on ABC, CBS and
NBC, on cable stations such as CNBC, MSNBC, and CNN, and during Monday Night
Football in 10 markets.  Print ads will appear throughout the year in USA
Today, The Wall Street Journal and national monthly publications including
Mutual Funds Magazine, Money, Kiplinger's, SmartMoney, Better Investing and
Sports Illustrated.
