PineRock Stages 2004 Diversity and Women Leadership Summit & Gala in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- PineRock, headquartered in Washington,
D.C., has added the production and staging of another important community
related event -- the 2004 Diversity and Women Leadership Summit & Gala -- to
its many productions.
Women ambassadors from various nations gathered at the recent summit to
explore issues such as the global marketplace, leadership in the private,
government and non-profit sectors and entrepreneurship. Speakers included
Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross; Stedman Graham,
author, speaker and businessman; and Ericka Dunlap, Miss America 2004. The
event took place at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Ed Romanoff, PineRock president and founder, said, "It is rewarding to
facilitate this important international summit and help it to succeed. Our
involvement included communicating with their many audiences in a number of
ways -- from overall strategy and messaging to producing many of the sessions
and making them memorable and exciting."
Edie Fraser, president of Diversity Best Practices and the Business
Women's Network, said, "For the past few years, we have relied on PineRock to
support us in making this such a flawless and memorable program. Not only
does PineRock deliver each year, but we look forward to working with their
staff each year as we recognize and celebrate such strong and globally
respected business leaders and practices."
PineRock has an impressive track record of service to the Washington metro
community. Recently, for example, the company helped the Federal City Council
(FCC) celebrate its 50th Anniversary. The FCC is a non-profit, non-partisan
organization dedicated to the improvement of the nation's capital.
Established in 1954, it comprises and is financed by 170 of the region's top
business, professional, education, and civic leaders. The council has played
a key developmental role in projects that include the METRORAIL system, the
current Washington Convention Center, Union Station, and the Ronald Reagan
Federal Building and International Trade Center.
PineRock's role in producing the event was to bring the extraordinary
story of the first 50 years of the FCC to life. PineRock produced a
documentary-style video presentation featuring interviews from Washington area
luminaries including Mayor Anthony Williams, Senator Fred Thompson, former DC
Councilwoman Charlene Drew Jarvis, The Washington Post CEO, Donald Graham and
FCC executive vice president, Ken Sparks, among many others.
Also, in September, PineRock produced an annual awards event --
"Celebration of Life" -- for Second Genesis, a nonprofit drug and alcohol
rehabilitation program. Second Genesis provides residential therapy for drug
and alcohol abusers. Second Genesis expanded its services to provide a
residential treatment facility exclusively for women and children while also
opening additional outpatient treatment operations in Maryland, Virginia, and
Washington, D.C.
Mr. Romanoff, also a member of the Second Genesis Board of Directors, said
"Second Genesis is a great organization that makes a major contribution to the
Virginia, Maryland and D.C. area. It is a great honor to work with them on
this annual event."
Special guests included the Honorable Luis Moreno, Ambassador of Colombia,
and his wife Gabriella; Kendel Ehrlich, the First Lady of Maryland; former
Redskin Dexter Manley; newsman Paul Berry; and the United States Air Force
Singing Sergeants. Renowned performer Michael Bolton provided the post-dinner
entertainment. More money was raised this year than any other event in the
organization's history.
