Revolutionary Visage Imaging and Visualization Software Provides Stunning
Image Quality, Blazing Load Times, a Cardiac Analysis Option, and More
CHELMSFORD, Mass., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mercury Computer
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) announced it will demonstrate the enhanced
Visage(TM) "3D to the Core" product family with advanced functionalities,
new clinical applications, and breakthrough levels of image quality and
performance -- that will further facilitate the 3D visualization
transformation throughout the medical imaging workflow.
Mercury will showcase its leading-edge Visage CS Thin Client/Server and
Visage PACS solutions at the 92nd Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of
the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) at McCormick Place, in
Chicago, Illinois, November 26-30.
The Mercury Visage CS Thin Client/Server features blazingly fast study
loading with 2,000-slice dataset start times measured in seconds. It
includes an optional Cardiac Analysis Package that allows easy review and
automatic quantification of cardiac dynamics using 4D multi-slice CT data
to assess functional parameters, as well as coronary artery analysis.
Clinicians can access advanced functionalities, such as left ventricular
analysis and coronary artery analysis, within the workflow of the image
distribution system (PACS), at the click of a mouse. Furthermore, Visage CS
now includes improved tools for bone removal and vessel segmentation. These
advanced features easily allow the removal of the bone or can track the
vessel with only a few clicks, as well as generating boneless MIPs and
volume-rendered images. All of this is displayed with the highest quality,
highest performance visualization and rendering available in the industry.
"Mercury's advanced imaging and visualization solutions help
radiologists and clinicians to quickly and easily navigate through 2D, 3D,
and even 4D medical imaging data, to present the most consistent image data
using analytical tools for quick and accurate diagnoses," said Marcelo
Lima, Vice President and General Manager of Commercial Imaging and
Visualization at Mercury Computer Systems. "The scalable server-side DICOM
back-end ensures reliable, consistent, and efficient access to all image
data. Thus, our Visage software provides all the capabilities of a
full-blown medical workstation to any client in the hospital, supporting
instantaneous advanced visualization from modalities."
Visage PACS, Mercury's award-winning image distribution system, now
features hanging protocols for its web clients, enabling a radiologist or
clinician to define how images from multiple series and studies are
displayed in multiple viewers on single or dual monitors, depending on the
type of DICOM data the user has selected for viewing. The greatly improved
user interface of the Visage PACS web viewer provides the possibility of
side-by side viewing of any number of images with flexible viewer layouts.
Mercury recently was granted clearance by the FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) to market Visage PACS and Visage CS products as medical
devices in the United States.
