Douglas H. Hanson, chairman and chief executive officer for RMI.NET,
credited an aggressive growth strategy and an ability to capitalize on
advances in the Internet industry -- including e-commerce -- for the company's
3,874 percent revenue growth in the past five years. RMI.NET is ranked as the
70th fastest-growing U.S. technology company.
"We have successfully grown our company through strategic expansion, a
focus on our core business and quality customer service," Hanson said. "It
truly is an honor to be recognized by Deloitte & Touche as a leading
nationwide technology company, and it is a credit to the hard work of our
dedicated employees and the loyalty of our customers."
"Technology as we know it has been part of our lives for less than 50
years, yet it has become a part of our everyday existence," said Mark Evans,
managing director for the Deloitte & Touche High Technology Group. "We at
Deloitte & Touche salute RMI.NET, whose leaders had the vision and whose
employees had the capabilities to keep up with the demands of today's
fast-paced technology marketplace."
The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Technology
Fast 500 was 4,998 percent. To qualify for the Fast 500, companies must have
had revenues of at least $50,000 in 1994; be headquartered in the United
States; and be "technology companies," defined as a company that produces
technology, manufactures a technology product, is technologically intensive,
uses technology in problem solving, or devotes a high percentage of effort in
the research and development of technology.
Hanson noted that RMI.NET would continue to focus its efforts on
developing and providing e-commerce applications, web solutions and
high-speed Internet access. He also noted that the company has continued its
growth strategy in 1999 and has acquired 13 companies nationwide. The company
currently has an annualized revenue run rate of $43 million.
Technology Fast 500 winners have been invited to an exclusive, two-day CEO
Summit on May 11-13, 2000 at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida. The
summit is designed to address the unique business issues facing technology
companies.
