Services Across Entire Post-Merger Customer Base
SINGAPORE, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global customer care and

Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad has selected and deployed the Kenan(R) FX framework
as its exclusive billing and customer care platform.

CSG's Kenan FX framework supports all of Celcom's mobile subscribers
across Malaysia as well as mobile subscribers from the recently-acquired
Telekom Malaysia's TM Touch mobile network. Celcom is the country's most
experienced and largest mobile cellular telecommunications company. Celcom's
recent merger with Telekom Malaysia helped it claim 42 percent share in the
local mobile services market worth 10 billion ringgit (US$2.63 billion) in
annual sales and a subscriber base of more than 4.1 million.
Celcom, a long-time CSG customer, selected Kenan FX solutions as part of
its strategy to consolidate its technology infrastructure and leverage a
single billing and customer care platform to support its entire post-merger
customer base.
Celcom also wanted a world-class billing and customer care infrastructure
with the proven ability to grow with its business over time and enable it to
quickly adjust service offerings, bundling and pricing to meet rapidly
changing consumer demands and market conditions.
In addition to the newest version of Kenan/BP, Celcom deployed CSG
Customer Center, CSG's fully configurable customer care application that
provides order management and customer care support in a single application
integrated with billing. Customer Center was configured to meet Celcom's
individual look-and-feel and screen workflow requirements, giving the operator
control over how the application is used within its existing business
processes.
Celcom also deployed CSG's Orders Modules, also part of the Kenan FX
framework. These modules deliver pre-integrated order entry, order
fulfillment, and inventory management capabilities that work seamlessly with
Kenan/BP, enabling operators to manage customer requests from the point of
request acquisition through service activation and billing provisioning. By
utilizing CSG's Orders Modules, Celcom has streamlined its customer
acquisition and management processes and can seamlessly manage orders from the
Kenan/BP billing system through to other third-party applications.
"Kenan FX is our platform of choice to support our needs as we consolidate
our businesses and deliver multiple mobile services," said Mr. Yong Shee Mun,
Vice President, Information Technology, Celcom. "CSG's Kenan FX framework
gives Celcom a greater competitive edge by providing us with the flexibility
to choose billing and customer care solutions that best fit our business needs
today while preserving our ability to quickly and cost-effectively add
complementary tools to address emerging business models."
"The merger of Telekom Malaysia & Celcom creates a dominant mobile
operator in a highly competitive market," said Raghav Sahgal, Managing
Director and Vice President, CSG Systems Asia Pacific & China. "By leveraging
a centralized billing & customer care platform, Celcom can maximize its
infrastructure to efficiently support its consolidated subscriber base and
roll out advanced 2.5G and, ultimately, 3G mobile services. CSG is proud to
expand its business relationship with Celcom as it grows its business."
