Telluride Mountain Miles Program Unveils GPS SlopeTracker System This Season
TELLURIDE, Colo., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time ever, ski
resort guests can track their own on-mountain experience with the Telluride
Mountain Miles Program. In a partnership with Continental Airlines,
SlopeTracker and Telluride Ski Resort, skiers participating in the program
receive one air mile for every 100 vertical feet skied using GPS technology.
"We are thrilled with this partnership, and looking forward to providing
an exciting new service to our guests," said Ken Stone, vice president of
sales and marketing for the resort. "This program can be enjoyed by the
entire family for days on end, all the while earning frequent flier miles!"
Vacationers who book a four-day or more stay and travel with Continental
Airlines can participate easily by checking into the Mountain Village ticket
office. The winter enthusiast then receives an armband, which is turned in at
end of day and downloaded to calculate their ONEPASS frequent flier miles. A
souvenir map is also provided, detailing the day's experience including number
of runs, vertical feet accrued, speed, calories burned, distance traveled,
time skied, and the terrain difficulty.
Mountain Miles is free to vacationers booking a 5 night, 4 day or longer
stay through Telluride Resort Reservations at 866-287-5015. All resort guests
can experience the SlopeTracker GPS system regardless of Mountain Miles
participation for only $35 daily (no frequent flyer miles accrued).
