SANTA CLARA, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Coherent, Inc.
(Nasdaq: COHR), today announced the addition of Sandeep Vij to its board of
directors. Mr. Vij succeeds Frank Carrubba who retired from Coherent's board
of directors after 15 years of service.
Sandeep Vij is the Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Xilinx, Inc.
(Nasdaq: XLNX) since 2001. He is responsible for worldwide marketing
activities across all divisions, products, end markets, partners, channels and
geographies. Mr. Vij joined Xilinx in 1996 as Director of FPGA (Field
Programmable Gate Arrays) marketing. From 1997-2001, he was Vice President
and General Manager of the General Products Division at Xilinx where he held
profit and loss responsibility for the Spartan Series FPGAs.
