- Fast-Growing Supplier of Medical Imaging Systems Debuts Trio of
Self-Contained CR Systems and New PACS for Private Practices at RSNA 2007 -
REDONDO BEACH, Calif., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Radlink, Inc., a
supplier of affordable medical imaging systems to healthcare providers,
today announced the new family of hardware and software products they will
be introducing to the marketplace at RSNA 2007, the annual meeting of the
Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
Radlink has been garnering national attention in the healthcare imaging
marketplace for the past two years due to the highly successful rollout of
its flagship CR Pro(TM) machine. The CR Pro utilizes sealed fiber-optic
laser technology to obtain high-resolution, higher-quality digital x-ray
images at a substantially lower cost than other options in the marketplace.
This year, the company will be introducing a family of three distinct
CR Pro machines, each designed for a specific profile, and a uniquely
inexpensive PACS offering designed and priced specifically for the private
practice environment.
"By drawing on our innovative technology and the depth of professional
experience in the radiology industry that we have on our team, Radlink is
expanding the availability of digital informatics for all levels of
medicine through uniquely targeted engineering," said Thomas Hacking,
chairman and chief executive officer of Radlink. "This process eliminates
various hardware and software that just isn't needed and only adds cost at
the clinical level, which in turn enables us to deliver this new family of
machines and our new PACS offering at costs well below the norm in the
industry."
According to Hacking, the new products to be unveiled at RSNA 2007 are
the following:
CR Pro 2000
This new machine features a top-quality Computed Radiography (CR)
reader that is specifically designed for two markets: the OEM market, for
use as a CR appliance with digital radiography, as well as distributed
applications for end users with smaller budgets. The CR Pro 2000 is
engineered with an upgrade path that provides all of the capabilities of
the entire Radlink family of imaging systems.
CR Pro 2100
This is Radlink's core CR product, based on a proprietary "sealed fiber
optics" design that maximizes transfer efficiency in private physician
offices where low-power x-ray equipment is common. This breakthrough
machine delivers better resolution to clinicians for a much lower cost than
its competitors, and is a truly self-contained system that requires less
maintenance and enjoys a longer life than other products in the market.
CR Pro 2200
The CR Pro 2200 is a true achievement in the industry and will make
noise in 2008. In a practice with multiple physicians, all digital images
must be stored in a secure, HIPAA compliant database for future access.
This requires practices to double their investment in digital imaging by
purchasing an additional Picture Archiving and Communications System
(PACS). The CR Pro 2200 turns this model upside down by bundling a robust
PACS with up to 10 Terabytes of secure storage inside a self-contained
Radlink CR system with image quality and speed that equals any other CR
system available. This new offering is by far the best value available for
full-service digital imaging at any private practice or small imaging
operation.
ThinPACS
Radlink is also introducing a stand-alone PACS offering specifically
built and scaled for the private practice market. ThinPACS brings the
necessary components of a hospital-sized PACS to the smaller private
practice and imaging operation environment. This is a robust, completely
standards-based medical imaging communications and storage system at a
fraction of the cost of other PACS on the market.
"Radlink is ideally positioned to offer high-performance,
next-generation digital imaging solutions to meet the clinical challenges
of physicians, as well as OEMs, at prices that are affordable," said
Hacking. "We're excited to unveil these products at RSNA and to show
members of the radiology profession how we can help vendors and physicians
put the pieces together to arrive at a digital imaging solution that
improves clinical operations and practice efficiency."
RSNA 2007 will be held November 25-30, 2007, at McCormick Place in
Chicago. This year's event is the 93rd annual scientific assembly and
professional conference for members of the radiology profession throughout
the U.S. and Canada. Radlink's executive team will be providing one-on-one
demonstrations of all of the company's new products in Booth #4711 on the
floor of the exhibit hall.
