Borg-Warner Protective Services Awarded Tennessee Valley Authority Contract

    CHICAGO, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Borg-Warner Protective Services
Corporation, a subsidiary of Borg-Warner Security Corporation (NYSE: BOR),
today announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract from Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA).  The contract, valued at over $30 million, is to
provide security services at four TVA nuclear plants in Tennessee and Alabama,
as well as to support the TVA Police at TVA's Chattanooga and Knoxville office
complexes.
    The agreement creates a mutually beneficial partnership between TVA and
the Utilities Business Unit of Borg-Warner intended to increase productivity
and reduce costs.  The Utilities Business Unit provides security at 29 nuclear
power plants and 7 Department of Energy facilities in the United States and
has 30 years of experience in this specialized field.
    Norm Zigrossi, chief administrative officer of TVA, said they chose Borg-
Warner "because of its experienced project management team and because the
contract will save TVA approximately $3 million a year."  Zigrossi also said,
"The safety of the public and our employees is paramount.  We're confident
that the high standards of safety achieved by our site security team will be
maintained in this new relationship."
    Jim McNulty, president of Borg-Warner's Utilities Business Unit, said, "We
are very pleased to have been selected by TVA for the conversion of their
proprietary security forces to contract as the largest transition to nuclear
contract security, this project is strategically important to our company and
the electric utility industry.  When the remaining 20 nuclear plants with in-
house security make their future contract decisions, Borg-Warner will also be
prepared to assist them in meeting their cost reduction and containment
needs."
