All I Want for Christmas Is ... Children's Offbeat Requests for Santa

CHICAGO, IL USA
CHICAGO, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Every year children stand in line for
hours just to have a few precious moments with Santa. A moment when they get
to tell Santa about their greatest holiday wish.
According to the 2001 Santa Survey of General Growth Properties, Inc., the
requests can take all sorts of directions. From "pink snow" to a "star moon",
children don't limit their requests to conventional toys. Some even have
practical expectations, asking for a roll of toilet paper, a vacuum cleaner or
a Christmas tree. And when we're talking about children, it's important to
remember that practical is, of course, a relative term. One child asked for a
walk-in safe as a means of keeping her toys away from younger siblings.
Another child may have had the same idea when he asked for a "Mexican fighting
bull."
In a more touching direction, more than a few Santas remember tear-jerking
stories of children who ask Santa to make sure their parents were happy in
Heaven. While another little girl asked Santa to bring her divorced parents
back together. One wish that Santa will not forget is a child's request for
something most all Americans will be hoping for: world peace.
When children take their place on Santa's lap, Santa is prepared to answer
just about any wish a child's heart and creative imagination can dream up.
