VIENNA, Va., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- GRC International (NYSE: GRH) today
announced it has been awarded a $2.2 million, five-year contract to provide
computer and analytical support for mobility modeling within the Joint Staff
Logistics Directorate (J-4) Mobility Division. Work will also entail
recommending improvements to the design and implementation of inter-theater
and intra-theater mobility models developed under the Joint Analytic Model
Improvement Program (JAMIP).
Under this contract, GRCI will be responsible for database and model
operations for J-4's model-based mobility force/strategy evaluations as well
as providing training, and war game and exercise support. GRCI will also
support testing within J-4 of the inter-theater mobility component of the
Joint Warfare System (JWARS) campaign-level simulation being designed under a
separate GRCI contract for use by Department of Defense(DoD) combatant
commanders, the Joint Staff, the military services and the Office of the
Secretary of Defense.
The technical and analytical support aspect of this work is a follow-on to
mobility analysis and modeling services that GRCI has been providing
continuously for J-4 since 1969 and within DoD since 1962. Participation in
testing (and subsequent operation) of the JWARS mobility analysis component
will involve analysis of the interplay of logistics flows and combat outcomes
as they bear on defense forces and budgetary considerations.
In June of this year, GRCI was awarded one of two DoD contracts for
development and fielding of the overall JWARS system. In September, GRCI was
awarded the sole contract for integration of the inter-theater mobility
component within the JWARS model. The J-4 award further underscores GRCI's
role as a leader in providing and operating modeling and simulation tools for
DoD. It also continues GRCI's long-standing role as a leader in mobility
modeling and again demonstrates the company's resolve to maintain this
leadership through the creative adaptation of advanced technology to meet
changing client needs.
