ROSH HA' AYIN, Israel, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- BVR Systems (1998) Ltd.
(Nasdaq: BVRS) a diversified world leader in advanced military training and
simulation systems, today announced the successful completion of the first
week of flights of the Rangeless Airborne Instrumented Debriefing System
(RAIDS) project for the UK Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Warfare Center.
Marconi Avionics Holdings is the prime contractor for this project, which
was awarded in April 1998, and BVR Systems is the major sub contractor. The
RAIDS systems are based on BVR's 5th generation EHUD(TM) rangeless ACMI
system, which has been sold to leading air forces worldwide, including seven
NATO Countries.
EHUD(TM) airborne pods are housed in air-to-air training missile shells
adaptable to any type of combat aircraft. EHUD(TM) provides real-time missile
hit/miss simulation and assessment, midair and ground collision avoidance
warnings, real time command and control, and post-flight debriefing.
The 5th generation EHUD(TM) advanced Datalink, used in the RAIDS pods, is
based on BVR's unique Dynamic Allocation of Time Slots (DATS) algorithm, a
registered patent. This algorithm enables only the BVR systems to
simultaneously handle almost unlimited numbers of aircraft in real-time
without pre-planning. This is done through real time automatic adjustment of
the datalink network to the actual number of participants. BVR's advanced
datalink, together with its wide NATO customer install base enables BVR's team
to offer complete interoperability between NATO air forces, which is a key
element in today's NATO training.
Zvi Kanor, BVR's President and COO commented: "We are very pleased to see
our systems flying with the RAF and demonstrating the unique capabilities of
the EHUD(TM) ACMI System. The RAF RAIDS project is top priority for BVR and
we will continue to provide our utmost support and efforts until its
successful completion."
