Raytheon Mourns Loss of Joseph S. Sisco, Served 20 years on Raytheon's Board of Directors

    WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 24, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Raytheon Company
mourns the loss of Joseph J. Sisco who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the age
of 85.  Dr. Sisco served for 20 years as a member of Raytheon's Board of
Directors from Aug. 1977 to Dec. 1997.
    "Joe Sisco's contributions to our company, our country, and our world are
an enduring legacy," said Raytheon Chairman and CEO William H. Swanson. "As a
member of Raytheon's Board of Directors, Dr. Sisco's wisdom and perspective

    Dr. Sisco served as a diplomat, a State Department negotiator, and
president of American University.  His career in the State Department spanned
five presidencies, where he worked diligently as a diplomat in the Middle
East.  Dr. Sisco will forever be remembered for his wisdom, statesmanship, and
undying commitment to education.
