BRISBANE, Calif., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- THE GOOD GUYS! (Nasdaq: GGUY)
opened two stores this week, introducing its very successful AUDIO/VIDEO
EXPOSITION store format to key California markets just in time for holiday
shopping. The Dublin store is an AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION store, and the Laguna
Hills location is a WOW! MULTIMEDIA SUPERSTORE operating in partnership with
Tower Records and incorporating the AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION format.
Dublin AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION -- One of the older generation of THE GOOD
GUYS! stores, the Dublin store located in the San Francisco Bay Area has
relocated to a new, larger site across the street. With a sneak preview going
on now and Grand Opening on Friday, November 27, this new AUDIO/VIDEO
EXPOSITION store has grown 86% to 28,445 square feet. Located at 6705 Amador
Plaza Road in Dublin, the store will become the eighth AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION
store and follows three other Bay Area stores converted to that format in
Hayward, Concord, and San Francisco.
AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION stores are designed to be user friendly. Within the
non-traditional environment of the store are EXPO rooms that demonstrate home
theater systems, multi-room systems, Internet, and the newest in digital
entertainment. Also featured are interactive displays throughout the store,
and Autorama, a showcase for new car audio technology. The central service
area of the AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION store is an open room of chairs and coffee
tables. It's here that broadly-trained sales specialists help customers draw
up personalized blueprints of home entertainment systems.
Laguna Hills WOW! -- Also open now and with a Grand Opening on Friday,
November 27, is the WOW! MULTIMEDIA SUPERSTORE in Laguna Hills. Located in
Orange County in Southern California, this new store will be the 4th WOW!, a
collaborative effort between THE GOOD GUYS! and Tower Records that offers
customers the best entertainment software retailer and the best consumer
electronics retailer together under one big roof. Located at 23541 Calle de
la Louisa at the Laguna Hills Mall, the store will be 45,868 square feet and
will be the ninth store incorporating the AUDIO/VIDEO EXPOSITION format.
Along with the many interactive displays and special features, the store
is highlighted by the country's first and largest High Definition TV (HDTV)
wall that displays true High Definition 1080i content. Customers can see the
remarkable HDTV quality in a huge wide-screen format, and can experience true
High Definition content playing all day long.
