RENO, Nev., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc. (Nasdaq: RENO),
(PCX: RNO) today announced tips that will help with planning the upcoming
Thanksgiving holiday and suggestions for making air travel more enjoyable.
Our airport personnel suggested the following tips:
1. Use Electronic Ticketing when booking the reservations. Instead of
worrying at the last minute who has the tickets, it is easy to book an
electronic ticket at the time you are booking your reservation. All that is
necessary at the airport is a photo I.D. and the ticket agent or gate agent
will issue a boarding pass.
2. Allow plenty of time to get to the airport. Increase the normal time
of leaving for the airport by 30 minutes to an hour, check-in early and relax.
This is a great time to explore the airport concessions or to get started on
that favorite novel there is never enough time to begin.
3. Check your bags at the ticket counter. This will not only save time
but also energy. Remember to keep an eye on your baggage at all times,
especially during the holiday period when the increased volume of passengers
can make for very crowded terminals.
4. Label your baggage. Ensure that the correct name, address and phone
number is on every piece of luggage, including carry-on bags. Be sure to
leave an index card or a business card inside your bag in case the label on
the outside gets ripped off.
5. Make ticket changes early. Ticket changes should be made at least a
day before the travel date to ensure a smooth check-in and to help decrease
delays.
Tips from Reno Air Flight Attendants:
1. Travel light. A lighter baggage load will make for a less tiring and
more enjoyable trip. Try rolling clothes when packing to reduce wrinkling and
to allow for more space. Mix and match outfits to reduce the number of
garments needed and check weather forecasts to ensure that you are packing the
appropriate items. Small duffel bags are best to travel with as they are
light, durable, and more flexible to load.
2. Take care with the kids. Travelling with children doesn't have to be
a stressful event. Pack some of their favorite munchies for healthy,
inexpensive snacks as well as juice packs to keep them hydrated. Bring along
their favorite toy or book to reduce in-flight boredom, and be sure to take
them to the restroom prior to boarding the aircraft.
3. Take care of yourself. Passengers who have special dietary
requirements should bring along snack items that may not be readily available.
Be sure to carry with you any medications that you may also need.
4. Be patient. Holidays are a stressful time so try to be understanding
and share the holiday spirit with others. Don't try to do too much the day
you travel -- plan ahead, take your time, smile, and relax.
"Planning ahead, allowing enough time, and keeping a good attitude will
set the tone for your Thanksgiving holiday," said Charles Galloway,
San Jose-based lead flight attendant. "We will do everything we can to
provide you with great service during the busiest time of the year so you can
truly enjoy visiting with the people you love."
