Visitors can 'Elf' Themselves, 'Elf' a Foursome, or Celebrate their 'Ba
Humbug' Spirit with ScroogeYourself
NAPERVILLE, Ill., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- OfficeMax(R) Incorporated
(NYSE: OMX), a leader in office products and services, today announced the
return of a holiday favorite that became an online pop culture phenomenon
in 2006 -- ElfYourself(TM), generating more than 11 million elves. This
year, visitors have the option to either "Elf" themselves or expand the elf
concept by "elfing" themselves along with three other friends -- creating a
band of four elves. For those individuals not quite in the holiday spirit,
OfficeMax offers a new character to trigger a smile from even the grumpiest
of curmudgeons -- ScroogeYourself.
OfficeMax is also bringing back nine popular online holiday games that
were first introduced during the 2006 holiday campaign. In addition to
ElfYourself.com and ScroogeYourself.com the other sites include:
Reindeer Arm Wrestling (http://www.ReindeerArmWrestling.com)
Roast A Turkey (http://www.RoastATurkey.com)
Greetings from the North Pole (http://www.GreetingsFromTheNorth.com)
Shake the Globe (http://www.ShakeTheGlobe.com)
Yes I'm Working (http://www.YesImWorking.com)
Don't Shoot Your Eye Out (http://www.DontShootYourEyeOut.com)
Save the Snowman (http://www.SaveTheSnowman.com)
Faux Charity Donation Generator (http://www.FauxCharity.com)
North Pole Dancing (http://www.NorthPoleDancing.com)
"Nearly a quarter of million people have visited the ElfYourself.com
web site in anticipation of this year's launch," said Ryan Vero, executive
vice president and chief merchandising officer. "At the height of
ElfYourself's popularity ten people were 'elfing' themselves every second.
ElfYourself -- and now ScroogeYourself -- is our way of bringing a little
light-hearted fun to family and friends during the holiday season. It's
easy to get caught up in the grind and stress of getting your holiday 'to
do's' accomplished, but these two digital characters help people spread
cheer and keep the season bright."
ElfYourself.com and ScroogeYourself.com holiday web-sites were
concepted, designed and produced for OfficeMax by New York-based
advertising agency Toy NY, along with its interactive partner EVB. Last
year Toy NY created 20 holiday web sites for OfficeMax and regard
ElfYourself.com as its most successful e-card they've ever developed.
OfficeMax's ElfYourself.com site allow visitors to upload up to four
photos and record a synchronized message through a special toll-free phone
number. The face (or faces) is then attached to an animated elf body, the
voice is processed to sound elf-like and the result is a dancing and
talking elf or elves that can be forwarded to family or friends, or posted
to personal web sites or blogs.
