(Nasdaq: GSIG) announces a large purchase order for its memory production
systems from a leading manufacturer of memory chips. Deliveries are scheduled
for Q4 2005 through Q1 2006.
According to Nino Federico, V.P. and General Manager for the company's
Laser Systems Group, "Once again, GSI is demonstrating technology leadership
by providing customers with next generation production tools. We are very
pleased to receive this order for our next-generation M455, Green Laser
WaferRepair(TM) system. The size of the order leads us to believe that the
semi capital equipment purchasing cycle is getting stronger."
The new M455, Green Laser WaferRepair platform was designed to address the
current and future technology requirements associated with reliable, cost-
effective laser fuse processing of high density DRAM and NAND Flash. It is
being introduced into active production as the newest next generation product
and is expected to be the standard for the next several years.
